Sharjah is all set to host the AFG vs IRE ODI series. All three matches will be played at this venue. The first ODI will be played on March 7 starting from 5 pm IST. 

Afghanistan lost the Only Test earlier in the series and will look to get the ODI series off with a win The two teams have played 30 ODIs to date with Afghanistan winning 16 matches and Ireland 13. Afghanistan are undefeated in the last five ODIs against the Irish nation. 

Afghanistan will be led by Hasmatullah Shahidi. The team is without their two best bowlers Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman who are ruled out with injury concerns. While Rashid is still recovering from his lower back injury, Mujeeb is ruled out of the series with a right phalanx sprain.

Ireland will led by Paul Stirling who took over from Andre Balbirnie as the ODI captain. The batting rests on the likes of Stirling, Balbirnie, Lorcan Tucker and Harry Tector. The bowling group includes Curtis Campher, George Dockrell, Mark Adair, Craig Young, and spinner Andy McBrine. The bowlers will be tested in the hot and humid conditions in Sharjah.
