Sunil Narine Creates History, Becomes 1st Player To Achieve This Milestone In IPL History

During the 31st match of the 2024 Indian Premier League, the all-rounder Sunil Narine created history. In the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals, Narine scored his first century in the IPL while batting in the first innings.

The veteran all-rounder played an impressive innings, consistently hitting boundaries. He scored 109 runs from 56 balls at a remarkable strike rate of 195 which includes 13 fours and six sixes. Narine formed crucial partnerships during his innings and contributed his team to reach a total of 223 runs.

After the century, Narine also contributed with the ball and took the wicket. He dismissed Dhruv Jurel during the ninth over of the Rajasthan Royals’ innings, but the umpire initially ruled not out. After the review of the LBW appeal, Jurel was eventually given out.

In addition to his batting and bowling contributions, Narine made an impact during the powerplay and took a catch. While fielding at mid-on, he caught RR’s skipper Sanju Samson’s.

In this match, Rajasthan Royals won the match and elected to bowl first. While batting first, KKR posted a mammoth total of 223 runs at the loss of six wickets. Rajasthan Royals needed 9 runs from the last six balls against Varun Chakravarthy which was easily accessible by Jos Buttler who scored 107 runs in 60 balls in this match.
